beau is sitting in the library on a couch, with a flask. she's texting, slowly, but when she sees otome she just, like. holds out a hand?]

[ Well, there's a hand right there, so she's just going to slowly walk over and sink down on the couch beside her and take that hand.

And exhale. ]

[beau will just hold her hand and shift to lean against her, resting her head on her shoulder. she's too upset to be flustered or stupid about it.]

[ Otome holds still, letting her just slump and releasing a shaky breath. ]

... Were you able to talk to him?

I... refuse to believe he willingly...

He's got a boy back home. And he talked about how he's upset that he can't save people here, I don't think any of that was insincere. I don't know why he'd do it of his own volition.

There has to be more to it than what we currently know.

... Granted, the things we don't know just seem to be increasing.

I got some, though. From Rupert. He did two of them. But he couldn't tell me why.

... I'm sorry for him. It was insensitive, but he was upset. I think he probably does regret it.
