I did mention a void, I think. After fighting the things testing us, we were given the choice to decide how we wanted the world to be. And eventually we decided to just set things back to before the monsters attacked, to restore the lives that had been lost and to get rid of the void.

Of course, then stronger things came... not to test, but to eradicate, and the void is spreading even further now.
