[ Wow, she... just happened to glance up on her way back into her dorm, only to see a familiar figure on the balcony.

Otome blinks, mildly perplexed, then cups her hands around her mouth to call up to him. ]

Is everything all right, Lalli?

[silentscout]

[Lalli had been looking out to the horizon, trying to see if he could actually spot any details about the city that lays beyond the forest. But he is quickly distracted by Otome's voice, and he looks down at her.]

Yes? Why would things be wrong?

[Someone should tell him it's not normal to perch on balconies other than your own.]

[momming]

... Well, not wrong necessarily, but I didn't expect to see anyone perched on the balcony...

[ He seems fine, at least. ]

[silentscout]

Oh.

[It's an honest answer, so Lalli can understand it. And it prompts him to explain a bit.]

I'm a scout. Scouts need to be able to see everything.

[momming]

A scout? You mean like a guide and surveyor?

[ Well, he certainly seems comfortable in high places. ]

Is that a good enough view, then?

[silentscout]

Mhmm.

[Mostly. There's other parts too, but that's the general idea.]

It's alright. Nothing here is very tall, so even short spots work.

There isn't much to see anyway. All the buildings are covered in tarps.

Week 0, Friday

[Shortly after body announcement, Otome gets a text!]

I found Dimitri passed out in a classroom.

Do you have painkillers?

[momming]

[ oh my god ]

I do, yes. Is he still there?

[silentscout]

He's on top of the school now.

We headbutted on accident and it's sore, but I think it hurts more for him.

[momming]

[ On top of the... ]

I'm not entirely sure I can reach him, but... I'll see what I can do. Are you sure you're fine?

Week 2, Saturday

[momming]

[ Hi. Otome's really tired, but she can at least nod to Lalli when she spots him.

Hi, Lalli. ]

[silentscout]

[Hi Otome! Lalli is actually going to go over to her when she nods to him.]

I didn't say what I did because I thought you had killed.

[Lalli that's not an apology.]

[momming]

... Do you think I'm angry, Lalli?

[silentscout]

No. But that makes it worse.

[momming]

Eh? Why?

[silentscout]

Because it feels like you not being mad at me is unearned.

Week 2, Sunday

[momming]

[ She's just. Really tired, but she's gotta check on people, so. A text. ]

How are you holding up, Lalli?

[silentscout]

Tired.
Worried.
But alive.

[So he's doing alright, all things considered? Maybe.]

[momming]

[ Very succinct. Very Lalli. ]

You should get some rest. Is your worry keeping you up?

Week 3, Friday

[silentscout]

[Well. There's bodies found, but he kind of avoided most medical attention for a wholeass day, but he can't really do it anymore!.]

Can you do stitches?

[momming]

One of my specialties. Where are you?

[silentscout]

Fall dorm. I can let you in.

[momming]

I'll be right there.

[silentscout]

[He is indeed waiting by the front door for Otome. He's assuming she will come with supplies too because he doesn't have any. He'll let her in and then explain what's going on.]

I don't want to waste magic healing on my shoulder. A few stitches is all I need.

[momming]

[ She did indeed. ]

Luckily, you're the first person I've had to use a suture on here. But I also brought painkillers, since I don't have much in the way of sedatives.
