... I think that those moments are their true selves, just from what we're coming to learn. And for this... series to happen, they're not hiring people, they're-- forcing them, somehow, to become their roles?
Mind control, probably. It's like how some people here are having their personalities altered to fit the show. Look at what happened to Catra with her school spirit. It hit Sagihara this week. It'll probably hit someone else tomorrow. They're trying to make this as believable as possible. ...Sagihara told me that while he wasn't himself, he kept thinking about how he never wanted to leave the school.
And if the dorm heads were brought here the same way we were...we can probably guess something happened to them in the weeks before we got here that made them like this.
... Right, I also think Mabel was acting more manic than usual, the week that Catra also began behaving oddly.
When I talked to Catra about it that week, mentioning leaving, she really did think I was strange to mention it. She said she wanted to stay until graduation.
But... [ she frowns, tapping her chin. ]
Time may be a defining factor in why the heads seem to be so convinced they're from here, but why is it temporary with us? They all seem to snap out of it before the week ends.
Really? I thought Mabel was just like that. [he truly knows nothing about mabel.] ...my theory right now is that the people who get cursed in the week are people who end up outside on Thursdays. I haven't figured out why yet though.
Maybe we snap out of it because whatever's trying to control everything can't get a strong enough grip on us?
It's possible. But then that brings up the question as to why. What makes us so different from the others, when they successfully did this to the people teaching us and the leaders of these dorms?
[ This is going to do nothing for Otome's sleep habits. ]
When we first got to the Digital World, we kept meeting digimon that were being controlled by these black gears that were stuck in them. The gears would make them evil and they'd try to kill us.
And then later, the Digimon Kaiser created these evil rings that would enslave the digimon and make them listen to his commands. The evil spirals were created to control even more powerful digimon, including how they could evolve. So. It's possible.
...oh. We...never explained that, huh. [oops.] Digimon are digital monsters. Think of them like sentient creatures? They have their own personalities and thoughts and can choose their own decisions. Yamato and I have digimon partners that we met the first time we all went to the digital world.
It made it easier the first time we got there, that's for sure. We didn't even know the digital world existed until we got sent there. The digimon were waiting for us, and without us they couldn't evolve to get even stronger and help defend their world. And ours, too, when things started affecting Earth.
Yeah. There are evil digimon just like there's good digimon. At one point, a gate was opened from the digital world to go to earth because...there were supposed to be eight of us. When we first got there, only seven of us had made it. So a digimon called Vamdemon found a way to Earth to try and find the eighth child and kill them. If we weren't all together, we wouldn't have been at our strongest.

...Yamato and I thought there might be some kind of item on them that's controlling them.

It's too bad I can't examine them.
[ Just to narrow it down. ]

[ She pauses. ]
Digital demons... well, that's not too different. You didn't have to fight them to earn their partnership, did you?
no subject
I don't know about that, but no. We never had to fight them. They had been waiting for us to arrive for a really, really long time.
